Christopher Garden, Doctor of Chiropractic, has been treating patients with the Desert Clinic Pain Institute, Summit Institute, and the Center of Excellence since March 2017. He thoroughly enjoys working with patients and is passionate about introducing them to how important chiropractic can be as part of their healing process. Every day, he has an opportunity to help relieve his patient’s pain, make a positive change in their day, or put a smile on their face without the use of drugs or surgery.
Dr. Garden was in private practice in Wasilla, Alaska for 17 years and currently runs Coronado Island Chiropractic in San Diego.
Growing up he was fortunate to have a great medical doctor and chiropractor influencing his health. While playing hockey in the tenth grade he suffered a serious spinal injury. The medical doctors said he may never walk again, but his family chiropractor had other ideas. After numerous adjustments, not only did Dr. Garden walk again, but he went on to play college hockey and club rugby.
As a freshman at S.U.N.Y Oswego, his Lakers team defeated legendary Miracle on Ice Coach Herb Brooks and the St. Cloud State Huskies to earn a spot in the NCAA Division III finals where they lost to Plattsburgh State. Dr. Garden then played Division I hockey at Northeastern University in Boston. He also played club rugby during and after his studies at “The Fountainhead,” Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa.
From the moment of his injury, Dr. Garden was instilled with a passion to pursue and participate in the great profession of chiropractic. He believes that proper spinal health is crucial since every cell, organ, muscle, and body function is controlled by the central nervous system. Life is lived through the nervous system and if there are subluxations (misalignments) in the spine then there is a direct impact on nervous system and body, which can cause pain and dysfunction.
Dr. Garden believes that chiropractic care restores the natural function of the human body and can help everyone live the life they were meant to live.
Dr. Garden has been married to Julie for 15 years; they have a daughter Kendall, and sons Eston and Vinton. When not in the office, he enjoys cooking, playing golf, traveling and spending time with his family.
